Celebrate New Year in Cyprus.

Christmas and the New Year!!! Few of the holidays can compare to this one. And what a wonderful time of the year it really is. After travelling the world and having lived in several other countries we still stand by our opinion that Cyprus is it. And we’re going to welcome the New Year on this beautiful island. Come join us!!!

For our new customers, here's a bit about our winter programs for the people who want to experience Cyprus during the winter months. This season we will make an accent on golf, spa treatments (Cyprus style), wine tasting, and agrotourism. And by the time January ends and February begins there will be enough snow in Troodos for us to take you to my favorite winter Cyprus attraction – snowboarding/downhill skiing. And if you are one of the very brave ones craving unforgettable memories….. we can do something very special (that can be done only in a handful of places in the entire world) – we will meet the sun in the sea surfing or SUP-ing and we’ll wave farewell to the sun carving snow in the mountains. It’s gonna be great.

Staying true to our tradition we have made a package deal for the season. It is a program comprised of the most popular, coolest and interesting excursions for a certain number of days with a certain price tag. And just like always, you can order this exact program or you can alter pretty much anything on the menu to your liking. The way to set any of this up is very simple – write to us and don’t forget to let us know about your arrival and departure dates and include your contact particulars.

So…without further ado the following is our Winter Excursion Program for the New Year in Cyprus.

***Day 1 *** Golf We’re going to visit the oldest golf field in Cyprus and, I personally think, the coolest one also. It was a first of its kind project for Donald Steel and recently it has been renovated and enhanced by Mackenzie & Ebert. The field is a seamless part of its surrounding landscape and is just as breathtaking as the vibrant nature of Cyprus.

Here is some info on the field: -18 holes, par 71, distance 5,843 meters -Handicap: women 36, men 28 -Total Greens Area: avg. 7,200 sqm (approx.. 400 sqm/hole) -Tee: 3/hole (approx.. 477 sqm/hole) -Bunkers: 35 (approx.. 1,600 sqm) -Lakes: 2 -Driving Range: 16 bays -Putting green: approx. 400 sqm -Chipping green: approx. 326 sqm

If you’re a beginner and some of these numbers tell you very little, I have two good news for you. One, this place is worth your time and will leave you wanting more. Two, there is a golf academy and a pretty good one at that so you will be setting your sights on Tiger in no time.

***Day 2*** Winery(ies) and wine tasting Cyprus has several drinks that are worth the attention of even the most respectable wine aficionado. It is a fact not only because these drinks took first places and gold medals in international competitions but also because they are unique to this island and this island only. There is a certain type of grape which only grows here and nowhere else, for example. On the other hand you will be pleasantly surprised when you suddenly taste porto wine or a very “familiar” whiskey. Are you intrigued yet?!

***Day 3 and day 4*** Agrotourism We are going to a famous and old village in the mountains. There we will visit a rose factory that has been producing oils, drinks, perfumes and cosmetics for over 100 years. This village is also famous for its own mineral water spring, meat shop (which produces some of the best bbq smoked meats) and a cheese store. We’ll spend the night in the mountains enjoying the serene night sky and the fresh crisp mountain air. After having a nice warm Cypriot village breakfast we are going to a local monastery then for a hike in the mountains and after we will head back to the place of your main stay.

***Day 5*** Open air sightseeing We arrive at a very special place – on one hand we have the beautiful Mediterranean sea, in front of us we see the ruins of an ancient city-state and to the other side of us we can witness the greatness of the Cypriot nature. This place is oozing with history. The Greeks, the Romans, the Byzantines – they all took possession of the city-state and they all kept it in perfectly functioning order (as it was a very important place for each of them on the island), but the natural disasters such as earthquakes decided to leave us with the ruins of a once great city.

We will have a chance to live the life of the ancients. We’ll visit the amphitheatre, we will see how and where the ancients lived, we’ll see the early Christian basilica and we’ll even become spectators of the track and field competitions of the ancients and it’s not all.

***Day 6*** Nicosia – a place for the body and the soul Modern day Nicosia is a city of contrasts which is full of unexpected sights and sounds. Here we will show you the old city (that so many people talk about and want to see) and the new city (where the unexpected happens). We will also take you to the traditional Turkish bath house which is several centuries old but is just as cozy, comforting and relaxing as it was when it was built as a present to one of the paschas. Then there’re art, history, and the wonderful restaurants which can only be found in the capital. And if you have the desire, we can direct you on your quest to buy the best Cypriot souvenir or a gift for yourself.

***Day 7*** Villages and Cypriot Hospitality We will take a trip to a settlement that is world famous for its lace and silver craft. We will visit our friends in a traditional Cypriot house where they will give us a live demonstration of their craft. After, we will go to a one of a kind antique restaurant where we will be greeted by the most hospitable hostess in the entire universe and have a feast.

The above program costs 2,500 euros and is for one or two people maximum. This program does not include your main stay hotel (you have to book it yourself), does not include the cost of your food and it does not cover your shopping expenses (should you choose to buy souvenirs, gifts, etc.). As it was said above, you can alter the following program to your liking in any way you prefer (we customize everything according to your needs). The payment for the following program takes place upon your arrival to Cyprus on the first day. As always, we provide you with the transfer to your hotel/house/apartments and a transfer back to the airport when your holiday trip finishes.

In spite of the relatively warm temperatures during the day please make sure you take a couple of sweaters/windbreakers with you as it will be quite cool in the mountains. We advise you to book your accommodations in Larnaca or Limassol because they are conveniently located in the middle of literally everything on the island.
